Louth Market is on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9am to 3pm in Cornmarket (postcode LN11 9PD), and East Lindsey District Council runs it. The Farmers' Market joins the Wednesday market on the fourth Wednesday of the month, and Food Friday joins the Friday market on the second Friday.
That covers the basics. This guide adds what people usually ask next: what the stalls sell, where to park, how to pay, where to eat nearby and how to get a stall of your own. Traders change from week to week, so it does not list who will be there. East Lindsey Markets usually shares that on its Facebook page the day before.
Market Days and Times
The market runs three days a week, all year, 9am to 3pm: Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. It is held in Cornmarket in the middle of Louth. The council publishes a map of the market (PDF) showing where the pitches are.
Some traders leave early if they sell out, so the best choice of stock is usually in the morning.
Louth has been a market town for centuries. Our history pages cover the Bishop of Lincoln's planned market town and the story of saving the cattle market.
Special Markets
Several times a year the regular market is joined by something extra.
Louth Farmers' Market
On the fourth Wednesday of every month, local farmers, growers, producers and artisan food businesses join the Wednesday market. Read more in our Louth Farmers' Market article.
Food Friday
On the second Friday of every month, the Friday market gets a wider mix of food, drink and specialist produce traders. See Food Friday in Louth.
The council's sheet of Food Friday and Farmers' Market dates for 2026 (PDF) lists every date.
Christmas and Teenage Markets
Louth's Christmas Market is a separate event run by Louth & District Lions, not by the council. It is on Sunday 29th November 2026: read about it in our Louth Christmas Market article. The council also runs a Teenage Market on dates it announces during the year, which gives young traders and performers a free place to show what they make and do. Dates go on the council's Teenage Markets page once they are confirmed.
What You Can Buy
The council lists fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, meat, cheese, plants and flowers, toys, gadgets, fabrics, sweets, cakes, cards, household goods and clothing, with outdoor catering vendors selling drinks and snacks. The mix changes with each trader, and some weeks bring crafts, jewellery, records, vintage finds and handmade gifts as well.
Because each stall is its own business, prices and stock are best asked about at the stall. Traders may not see questions left on photos on social media.
Getting There and Parking
The council says every market town has public car parks nearby, so follow the local signs and allow extra time when it is busy. Its Louth car parking page has a map of the car parks and the current charges, so check it before you travel. For a sat nav, use LN11 9PD.

Before You Go
Bring cash and a card. Many traders take cards, but each business decides for itself and some take cash only.
Toilets. The council's markets team says there are public toilets within walking distance of the market.
Ask the trader. The council does not pass on traders' personal contact details. If a trader has a Facebook page or a website, the markets team will try to point you in the right direction, but speaking to them at the stall is the best way to ask about their products.
Eating and Drinking Nearby
You do not have to leave Cornmarket to sit down. Tina's Cafe and The Masons Arms are both in Cornmarket, and Alfredo Lounge is in Market Place. Our guides to breakfast in Louth and eating and drinking outside have more ideas, and every café and pub menu on inLouth is at Menus.
Market Stalls and Louth's Shops
Market stalls sit alongside the town's independent shops, and each is a good reason to visit the other. If you want a butcher, baker or food shop you can visit any day of the week, browse butchers, bakeries and food shops on inLouth. Manby Meat and Fish and Lenton Bakery at Grainthorpe Mill both have their own pages. For more about what is local to the area, see Food available in and around Louth.
Other Markets Nearby
East Lindsey District Council also runs markets in Horncastle (Market Place, LN9 5HB) on Thursdays and Saturdays from 9am to 2pm, with Farmers' Market traders joining on the second Thursday of the month, and in Spilsby (Market Place Car Park and Buttercross Car Park, PE23 5JT) on Mondays, except bank holidays, from 9am to 2pm.
The council's market days page also lists markets run by local town councils: Alford on Tuesdays and Fridays, Mablethorpe on Thursdays and Wainfleet All Saints on the last Friday of the month. Check the council's market days page for contacts and any changes.
Getting a Stall
Anyone can apply to trade. You create an account on the council's website, apply to become a registered trader, and once approved you book and pay for your pitches online. Charities and local groups can have a free pitch once every three months. Our article How to Get a Stall at Louth Market explains each step.
A Market Is Not a Business Listing
Louth Market is a public service, so nobody pays to be mentioned here. This guide takes its facts from East Lindsey District Council's own pages. Markets change, so always check the council's market days page for the latest.
