The Louth Farmers' Market is held on the fourth Wednesday of every month, when local farmers, growers, producers and artisan food businesses join the regular Wednesday market in Cornmarket. The market runs from 9am to 3pm, and East Lindsey District Council runs it.
Buying Straight From the People Who Make It
On most Wednesdays the Louth market is a mix of everyday stalls. The fourth Wednesday adds traders who grow, raise or make what they sell, so it is a chance to speak to the person behind the food. The council's markets team says that is the point of the day: to buy directly from local producers and artisan food businesses.
Who turns up changes from month to month. There is no fixed list, so read the traders' own pages or visit to find out.
When the Next Ones Are
Counting Wednesdays, the fourth Wednesday falls on 25th November and 23rd December 2026. Those dates come from the rule rather than the council's list, and December in particular is a month where plans can change, so check the council's Food Friday and Farmers' Market dates for 2026 (PDF) before you travel.
Planning Your Visit
East Lindsey Markets usually posts who will be at each market on its Facebook page the day before. Some traders leave early once they sell out, so the morning gives the best choice. Bring cash as well as a card, because each trader decides how they take payment. Parking is in the town's public car parks: the council's Louth car parking page has a map.
Horncastle has its own Farmers' Market too, on the second Thursday of the month, joining the regular Thursday market.
More Local Food on inLouth
If you enjoy shopping this way, butchers, bakeries and food shops in and around Louth are listed all year round. Lenton Bakery at Grainthorpe Mill and Manby Meat and Fish both have their own pages, and there is more in Local Products. The second Friday of each month brings Food Friday, and the Louth Market guide covers every market day.
If you produce food or drink yourself, how to get a stall at Louth Market explains how to apply.
