Lakings, the family butchers on Eastgate in Louth, has launched three Christmas hampers for 2026: The Hubbard's at £84.99, The Wolds at £119.99 and The St James at £239. Each one is a box of Lincolnshire meat and festive extras, and the business suggests them for family Christmases, gifts and staff or client presents.
Christmas dinner is mostly a shopping problem. Turkey, beef, gammon, bacon, sausages, stuffing and a pudding, all remembered, all bought, all at the right time. A hamper from your butcher turns that list into one order, which is the idea behind the new Lakings range.
A Family Butcher Since 1908
Lakings has been selling meat in Louth since 1908, and its website says the same local Lincolnshire farmers have supplied it for decades. The shop is at 33 Eastgate, and orders also go out by courier across the UK, packed fresh rather than frozen. It is best known locally for its Lincolnshire sausages, pork pies and Lincolnshire stuffed chine, so a hamper with sausages, bacon and a pork pie in the box sits comfortably in the range.
The Hubbard's
The smallest of the three is The Hubbard's, at £84.99. It holds a 1kg turkey breast joint, a 1kg beef joint and a 1kg pork joint, six rashers of dry cured back bacon, eight Lincolnshire sausages, twelve pigs in blankets and a pork pie. Three roasting joints in one box gives you a choice of centrepiece, or a Boxing Day roast as well.
The Wolds
The Wolds, at £119.99, steps everything up a size. The joints are 1.5kg each: turkey breast, beef and gammon. Alongside them come 450g of Lincolnshire sausage meat, eight Lincolnshire sausages, twelve pigs in blankets, 450g of dry cured back bacon and a pork pie.
The St James
The St James, at £239, is the full spread. It includes a 5kg turkey from the Lakings Local Bronze range, a 2kg beef joint, a 2kg gammon joint and twelve pigs in blankets. There is 1kg each of Lincolnshire sausage meat and dry cured back bacon, then the trimmings: Shropshire Spice sage and onion stuffing, a jar of Lakings cranberry sauce and a 900g Christmas pudding. If you are cooking for a big table, this is the one that covers the meat, the sides and the pudding in a single order.
Who the Hampers Are For
Lakings pitches them at three kinds of buyer: families treating themselves, anyone looking for a gift for someone special, and businesses buying for employees or clients. A box of local food is an easy gift to get right, and the hamper names (The Hubbard's, The Wolds, The St James) give each one a Louth feel. If you are buying for work, ask Lakings about quantities when you get in touch.
How to Order
The hampers were announced by Lakings itself, and at the time of writing the Christmas section of its online shop lists individual meats, turkeys and trimmings. Contact the shop to ask how to order a hamper, and about collection and delivery dates. You can call 01507 603186, email info@lakings.co.uk or call in at 33 Eastgate. Its Christmas page is open for pre-orders, and the shop says to reserve early to beat the festive rush.
Contents, prices and availability can change, so confirm them with Lakings before you order. For more on the shop, see its Lakings listing on inLouth, and for other food and gift ideas at this time of year, browse What's On in Louth.
