Louth-based developer 28 Pixels has been busy rebuilding RemappingData.com, an independent interactive website tracking ECU (engine) remapping data across more than 7,600 engine variants.
The rebuild of a previous 28 Pixels project moved the site onto custom systems aimed at making it quicker for vehicle owners and remapping specialists to find standard and remapped BHP and torque figures for specific vehicles.
Major Website Rebuild by Louth firm 28 Pixels
Louth-based website developer 28 Pixels is undertaking a major rebuild of a mechanical information website (RemappingData.com), an independent online resource covering ECU remapping performance data for thousands of vehicle engines.
The project has been developed by Martin Koss of 28 Pixels, following several years of work with businesses in the vehicle remapping sector, including local remapping specialist PP Tuning.
RemappingData.com now contains data covering thousands of engine variants across dozens of vehicle manufacturers and hundreds of models, with figures showing standard BHP and torque alongside typical figures following a Stage 1 ECU remap.
But After the first build and the decision to make it better, the project has become considerably more involved than simply publishing a large database.
Rebuilding the website around the way people search
During May and June 2026, Martin decided to rebuild much of the underlying system (built in late 2025) using custom-coded, purpose-built functionality.
The aim was to give the project greater flexibility while improving the speed and usability of searching such a large amount of vehicle data.
One of the main areas of development has been the vehicle search system. Rather than forcing users through a slow sequence of Make, Model, year and engine selections, RemappingData.com has been designed to make commonly researched vehicles quicker to reach and data easier and quicker to find overall.
Experience from working with remapping businesses
Much of the thinking behind the project grew from 28 Pixels’ work with remapping specialists. Martin has worked extensively with PP Tuning, developing its website and researching content around ECU remapping, vehicle performance and related technical subjects.
That work helped expose some of the limitations found across vehicle lookup systems and remapping websites more generally.
RemappingData.com was developed as a separate resource that doesn’t sell remapping services or tuning files. The aim is to organise the available information in a way that makes individual vehicles easier to research. Where published remapping figures appear inconsistent, further research can involve comparisons across multiple remapping businesses, specialist discussions, owner forums and other publicly available sources.
More than power and torque figures
The website is also expanding beyond basic performance data. Editorial content covers subjects including reliability, insurance, emissions systems, legal considerations and changing vehicle regulations, allowing the site to discuss potential drawbacks or concerns as well as the benefits normally associated with ECU remapping.
The project also includes a My Garage feature, letting registered users save frequently researched Makes, Models and individual engines for quicker access later. That could be useful both to vehicle owners carrying out their own research and to remapping specialists regularly working with the same vehicles.
A local project with a much wider audience
Although RemappingData.com has been developed by a small Louth-based business, the website is intended for vehicle owners and remapping specialists across the UK.
