If you’ve ever thought about a career in the kitchen but didn’t know where to start, this could be the opening you’ve been waiting for.
Archies, the cafe, bar and bistro on Pawnshop Passage in Louth town centre, is looking for a Production Chef Apprentice to join their small team. One position available, and the closing date is Wednesday 8 April 2026, so there isn’t long left.
What the role actually involves
You’d be working in a real, busy kitchen from day one – helping prepare and plate Archies’ breakfast menu, supporting brunch service, and getting stuck into their homemade stonebaked pizzas. It’s hands-on work, and most of your learning happens on the job rather than in a classroom.
The working week runs across five days: Wednesday to Friday mornings, with Friday and Saturday evenings added in, plus Sunday mornings. In total, around 34 hours a week.
The start date is Monday 20 April 2026.
Pay and qualification
The apprenticeship pays £14,144 in your first year, with potential increases depending on your age as the apprenticeship progresses. You’ll work towards a Level 2 Production Chef qualification, with training delivered through East Lindsey Information Technology Centre. All training takes place in the workplace, over an 18-month period.
What you’ll need
A grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English and Maths is required. Beyond that, Archies are really just looking for someone who’s keen, reliable and ready to learn. No previous kitchen experience is necessary.
A word from Archies
They describe themselves as a newly established cafe, bar and bistro in Louth, with big plans for 2026, and they want the right person to grow with them. If that sounds like you, or like someone you know, it’s worth getting an application in before the deadline.
Full details and how to apply can be found on the Find an Apprenticeship website.
